Gettysburg- turning point of the Civil War, home of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, county seat of Adams County and located in south central Pennsylvania. President Eisenhower, who during WWI served in Gettysburg at Camp Colt, so loved the location that he bought a farm on which to retire after his terms in office. Mamie Eisenhower donated the farm to the National Park Services. A rare covered bridge is located next to the farm.
The movie Gettysburg was filmed just down the road from Eisenhower Farm. The surrounding mountains and farmland provide excellent roads for a Sunday drive. With the fall leaves starting to turn, the backdrop will enchant most Lotus drivers. Touring the roads through the Gettysburg battlefields is just one of the many options as well as the vast orchards that populate the area.
